Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the IOU – Coupon Maker app for Android (package com.ioucouponmaker, hereby referred to as "Application"), created by alt dev (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as an ad-supported service.
In short: your coupons never leave your device unless you share them. The Application has no user accounts, the Service Provider operates no servers, and the Application contains no analytics or tracking of its own. The only third-party data processing is advertising (Google AdMob), which you control through the in-app consent options.
What the Application stores
Coupons you create (their text, optional To/From names, dates, icon and color choices) and your app preferences (such as language) are stored locally on your device only. None of this content is ever transmitted to the Service Provider.
Your coupon data may be included in your device's standard Android backup (managed by Google and your device settings) so it can be restored when you switch phones.
What the Application does not collect
The Application itself does not collect your location, contacts, photos, usage analytics, or any personal profile. It contains no analytics or tracking SDKs. The Service Provider cannot see who you are or what coupons you make.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Application shows occasional interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may process data from your device such as your advertising ID, IP address (from which a coarse, general location can be inferred), and basic device information. This processing is performed by Google and its certified ad partners under their own policies:
Your advertising choices & consent (GDPR / UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the Application shows a consent form (Google's UMP framework) on first launch, letting you choose between personalized and non-personalized ads or decline consent. You can review or change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options inside the Application. Where consent is not given, ads are non-personalized or not shown.
You can additionally reset or delete your device's advertising ID in your Android settings, or manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
Sharing and printing
When you share a coupon as an image or PDF, or print it, the content goes only where you send it, through your device's standard share and print systems. The Service Provider is not involved in that transfer.
Google Play services
The Application may invoke Google Play's in-app review dialog. That interaction is handled by Google Play under Google's Privacy Policy.
Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives only on your device, uninstalling the Application deletes it (a copy may persist in your Google device backup until that backup rotates, per Android's backup policy). Data processed by Google for advertising is retained under Google's retention policies linked above.
Children
The Application is intended for a general audience and does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Application has no data-collection mechanism of its own, and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal data through a third-party service used by the Application, please contact the Service Provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. For coupon content you are in direct control on your device. For advertising data, exercise your choices via the in-app consent options, your Android advertising-ID settings, or Google's tools linked above.
Changes
If the Application's data practices change (for example, if a future version adds new features), this page will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships. You are advised to consult this page for changes.
This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-08-04. It replaces the version of 2025-09-05.
